So a few of members of the band already have a beard and some have decided to take it upon themselves to grow their own. This got me into thinking, what makes a beard look good and more importantly feel good? My sexy lady has always been a fan of the 5 o-clock shadow and admits that more facial hair does look good on me. BUT, and yes that was supposed to be all caps, it also tickles her, pricks her, and is generally uncomfortable for her when we are having snuggle time. So naturally I reach out to 2PL8$ who not only has exceptionally soft skin, but also a very soft beard. (You will need to be around for Sunday Funday to really understand how we know this.) 2PL8$ introduced me to beard oil so naturally I turn around and head to google and start my research on the subject as i do all things. As I continue to let my beard grow, as slow as it may be, I still want to make sure I can get in close to kiss my girl without her being annoyed! Here are some of my findings.
Editor’s Note: Back in high school I found myself kissing a girl one night… and let’s just say, women waxing there lip is highly recommended over shaving. Yes, you can feel the stubble.
What is Beard Oil and why should you use it?
Beard oil can help with coarse hair, dry skin, beard dandruff, and itch. It is pretty much the holy grail for beards. Some can make beards thicker and grow faster (I need this one) and can also provide a nice aroma while nourishing your skin. You can get some style out of beard oil, but you should really look into beard balms/wax’s for styling needs.
What is in Beard oil?
Some common carrier oils found within the beard oil contain the following: These oils will help with everything from moisturizing, conditioning, healing, fighting ageing, preventing split ends, sun protection, softening, etc…. as the list goes on and on
JoJoba Oil – Most common
Argan Oil
Grape Seed Oil
Almond Oil
Caster Oil
Coconut Oil
Vitamin E (Oil)
You can also find Essential Oils which will contribute to the aroma factor. These will be separated into three categories; Top note, middle note, and base note. These determine when you will smell them after application. Some common Essential oils include:
Tea Tree (Top-Middle Note)
Pinewood (Middle Note)
Fir Needle (Middle Note)
Cedarwood (Base Note)
Sandalwood (Base Note)
How do I apply Beard Oil?
Let’s not over complicate this, guys. Its oil and you need to spread it through your beard. Simply apply a few drops into the palm of your hand and then rub it through your beard. Make sure you get down to the root as the oils are not only good for your beard but also for your skin

P.S. Well you made it this far in the article so hear is a little Easter egg if you will. 2PL8$ lets me sample some of his beard oil, so I headed down to the bathroom to apply some. Shortly after I entered, Barbie Mike walks in, we won’t go into detail if this was a coincidence or not, and we started talking about the beard oil. After application I asked Barbie if he wants to smell it (since it smells AWESOME!). Of course he does, why wouldn’t he? So as I turn my head and he leans in to take a big sniff, a stranger walks in and stares at us! Sometimes we are trying to make funny memoires and sometimes they just happen.
