After holidays are gone, one of the most hated phenomenon’s there is may start to take place, the Post-Vacation Syndrome.
Some say it does not exist, or simply they have never perceived it, but there are many others who know that this syndrome exists and that it is totally real. It’s a fact! When one goes back to their normal/everyday routine after any holiday, you definitely have it. Vacations are so relaxing and fun whether you’re enjoying family time, having a pina colada at a beautiful beach in the middle of nowhere or jumping from a plane. So there should be no doubt that when this vacation/holiday ends you will feel some part of this syndrome, no matter how small. You may not notice it or simply don’t care about it but those first few days of fatigue, exhaustion, sadness or stress is what the phenomenon is all about.
Some people, myself included, experience this syndrome at least 6 times a year which has allowed me the opportunity to develop and learn some tips to either avoid it or handle it. First off, you will want to take things step by step which are always a good start, no rush! Time usually goes turtle slow whenever you return and get back in your routine; which like the saying goes, “time flies when you are having fun”, and who does not have fun on holiday? You always have time to take it easier, keep that in mind. Be positive! Make an effort in keeping a good vibe around, positiveness is contagious and brings an environment that is much better to go through this tough time. Hang out with positive crews and stray away from negative energy. Rough days are sometimes inevitable, but always think that the glass is half full, even if it looks half empty. Do some exercise to get some of that added stress out, go to the gym, read a book, or simply drink a couple of beers…. Or many! #SundayFunDay
Just remember, keep it simple! It’s only 1 life we have, make the most of it!
